Katharine (Kathy) Bunn joined the Office of the General Counsel in 1996, and represents the university in multiple areas, including bankruptcy matters, employment issues, faculty and student issues, health care compliance and regulations, health care law, contracts, liens and malpractice and personal injury litigation. Bunn came to the General Counsel's office from the law firm of Blackwell, Sanders, Matheny, Weary & Lombardi in Kansas City, Mo., where she practiced from 1986 to 1996 in the areas of products liability and complex litigation, including antitrust litigation.
Bunn received a bachelor's degree with honors in economics in 1983 from the University of èßäapp-Columbia, and received a J.D. in 1986 from the University of Virginia School of Law. Bunn is a member of the following bars: èßäapp, Kansas, U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of èßäapp, U.S. District Court for the Western District of èßäapp, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
