We have put together a list of news articles that will keep you informed of the actions taken by the executive, legislative, and judicial branch of government. NPR – November 8, 2024
Control of the House is still too close to call, according to the AP. There is still a lot of outstanding vote in western states, like California, where there are multiple competitive races.
The Hill – November 5, 2024
St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell will win his House race to represent èßäapp’s 1st Congressional District, Decision Desk HQ projects. Bell’s defeat of Republican Andrew Jones is no surprise in the solidly Democratic district, but his victory follows a contentious primary in which he defeated incumbent Representative Cori Bush (D-Mo.) for the Democratic nomination.
Columbia èßäappan – November 6, 2024
Republicans Bob Onder and Mark Alford will be representing Boone County and other state residents in U.S. House Districts 3 and 4, respectively. Onder, who works as a physician, served two terms as a èßäapp state senator representing District 2 and a single term in the state House.

The Hill – November 8, 2024
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), announced this week that he will support Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) in the Senate Republican leadership race, giving Cornyn his first public endorsement in the Senate GOP conference. Hawley noted that Cornyn has expressed support for one of his top legislative priorities: extension and expansion of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).

Republican electoral wins in both the presidential race and the Senate are changing the game on government funding, as Congress braces for a battle over federal spending when lawmakers return next week. The increasing likelihood of a trifecta of Republican control in Washington is putting GOP leaders squarely in the driver’s seat in deciding whether to complete their annual funding work this year or punt the current Dec. 20 shutdown deadline into next year, when President-elect Trump is in office.
