Using a $2.6 million grant from NIH, researchers at the MU College of Engineering are designing a breathable material with antimicrobial properties for use with a wearable heart monitor.

UMKC campus photoUniversity of èßäapp-Kansas City

Only 10 of the 219 counties that make up èßäapp and Kansas have enough dental care providers, according to the Rural Health Information Hub. The majority of these dental deserts are in rural communities. The UMKC School of Dentistry is working to end this dental drought through a number of measures.

Veterans Center celebrates 10 years serving military-connected students at UMSL.

UMSL is investing in the growing geospatial field. As part of the educational agreement, UMSL faculty and staff are working with NGA professionals to develop a variety of academic courses to provide students with the skills necessary for careers in geodesy, geophysics and geospatial intelligence. Furthermore, UMSL is the only university in the region working with the agency to develop foundational geodesy coursework.
