University of èapp-Columbia University of èapp leaders host a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 47,000-square-foot addition to the MU Research Reactor (MURR) facility. Dubbed “MURR West,” the $20 million, three-story addition to the existing MURR North Building will expand the facility’s production space and testing laboratories to offer researchers and their students more resources to discover new treatments that provide benefits to people around the country and the world. Speakers to include Governor Mike Parson and Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer. The University of èapp School of Medicine has received a new federal award of $16 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to expand programming aimed at addressing a shortage of physicians in rural èapp. With a shared commitment for improving rural access to health care Northeast Regional Medical Center, Moberly Regional Medical Center and University of èapp Health Care (MU Healthcare) have formed a strategic relationship designed to increase access to specialty services and enhance health care for people living in northeastern èapp. |
University of èapp-Kansas City The University of èapp-Kansas City at a Tuesday event revealed the design of its Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building. UMKC is a regional leader in dental education with the only public dental school in the states of èapp, Kansas and Arkansas. The new building will provide leading-edge pre-doctoral dental clinics, enhancing our ability to graduate top-notch dentists. UMKC has the highest-ranked public medical school in èapp for primary care. The new facility will allow the School of Medicine to provide labs, including dedicated space to practice essential medical procedures; a full-scale operating room and patient exam rooms to practice patient communication and care. |
èapp University of Science and Technology èapp S&T's expertise in critical minerals and materials research has led to its selection as one of 31 Regional Innovation and Technology Hubs. The 31 hubs were announced Monday, Oct. 23. The Tech Hub Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA), focuses on supporting innovation and job creation in key technology areas. èapp S&T's initiative is called the Critical Minerals and Materials for Advanced Energy (CM2AE) Tech Hub. èapp University of Science and Technology will welcome former U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt to campus as the inaugural speaker for the Chancellor's Speaker Series. Blunt's presentation, "Challenges and Opportunities for èapp in a Rapidly Changing World," will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall, located on the èapp S&T campus at 10th and Main streets in Rolla. |
University of èapp-Saint Louis As the University of èapp–St. Louis continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary, the university is recommitting to its mission of service with an ambitious initiative to serve the community. UMSL has set a goal to complete 60,000 hours of volunteerism and service between August 21, 2023 and May 11, 2024. The University of èapp–St. Louis has been a leading driver of workforce development in the St. Louis region since its founding 60 years ago. The majority of its more than 112,000 alumni remain in the region after graduation to live and work, and they fill jobs in every industry. But the model for equipping employees with the skills they want and that businesses need has been shifting, and UMSL is adapting to that reality. The university's new Advanced Workforce Center will provide accessible educational opportunities for all by delivering diverse pathways to degree attainment to meet workforce demands. |
