Campus Information

Founded in 1870 as èßäapp School of Mines, primarily educated mining engineers and surveyors. The campus really started to grow right after World War II. The campus evolved into a world-class technological research university, one that was making an impact beyond the state and nation.

In 1964, the institution’s name was changed to the University of èßäapp-Rolla. UMR was the technology flagship of the four-campus University of èßäapp System.

Then, in 2008, the name officially became èßäapp University of Science and Technology. As a technological research university, èßäapp S&T is a member of a small but elite group of American institutions that distinguish themselves by having a mission-based commitment to improving the world through the study and application of advanced sciences and technology.
