Students from all four University of èßäapp campuses will share their research with state legislators this Tuesday, April 17, from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. in the èßäapp State Capitol rotunda. The event demonstrates the unique opportunities undergraduate students from the University of èßäapp have to participate in research with world-class faculty.
This year 52 students from all four èßäappcampuses worked with faculty mentors from departments including political science, biology, psychology, engineering, anthropology, and many others. Students will display their research projects in poster sessions in the Capitol rotunda and share information about their educational experiences with elected officials.
Research topics range from "Improving chemotherapy: Targeting proteins involved in drug resistance" to "Hydrogen cars from cornfields" and the "Ozone affects èßäapp's urban residents and rural crops." Many of the students also present their research at campus, regional and national symposia and conferences.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for students to show how they are experiencing hands-on, research with top faculty members," said event coordinator Kandis Smith. Smith serves as Assistant Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs for the University of èßäapp.
